The French toast is probably my dessert, or at least, my favourite breakfast ! So when Mr is not there (because, not that I don’t want to make him toast, but Mister hates anything that is soft !), I offer this little pleasure with good red fruit and a cup of tea, because, yes, I am a weak girl and very greedy !!! You have already noticed, no ? I find that this is a recipe that changes croissants, toast and pancakes, and is perfect for Sunday brunch, for example… umm…
I love the classic version with the bread slightly dry, but for the more greedy or hungry you can try the same recipe with brioche or panettone…
A gourmet breakfast ready in 5 minutes chrono, I am sure that you will be satisfied !!! Go zou, make fart-burning stoves, and turn the heat !
Ingredients (for 2)
- 4 to 6 slices of bread (or brioche)
- 20 cl of milk
- 50 g of sugar cane
- 50 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 vanilla bean (optional)
- Of fruit for the cover
Boil the milk with the sugar and the vanilla pod split in two and scraped. Then leave to infuse for 10 minutes off the fire.
Beat the eggs as for an omelette.
Quickly dip the bread in sweet milk and then in beaten egg.
Melt half the butter in a frying pan and add the slices of bread. Let cook for 3 minutes over medium heat to crisp, turn over and add the remaining butter. Continue cooking for 3 minutes.
You can enjoy this French toast hot, or slightly warm, and with fruit, it is a treat assured…
