Ah, the butter of apples… with Mr. we have discovered the joys of this little recipe during our honeymoon trip to Quebec, I offer you today a small part of my memories… It was winter, it was très très très très très très cold and the maple syrup and butter apples were our allies for the breakfast (breakfast in quebec !). Yes, because the butter apples it is toast ! Personally, I also love eating it with white cheese or a panna cotta for example.

So enjoy, because this is more than super easy to make and it is so good…

Butter, apples, maple syrup

Ingredients (for 2 jars)

  • 8-10 apples (boskoop, braeburn, pippin)
  • 120 g of butter
  • 13 cl of maple syrup-light or medium
  • 1 c. c. of lemon juice


Peel and cut the apples into quarters.

Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and let cook for 45 minutes over low heat.

Mix finely the preparation until obtaining a puree, and spread in glass jars sealed.

Keep cool.
