A simple way to accommodate the fig violette de Solliès which by cooking gives the honey a lovely pink color !

Figs roasted in honey and spices

Ingredients (for 4)

  • 10 figs, violets
  • 4 c to s of honey orange
  • 1 c to c of cinnamon powder
  • 1 c to c of ginger powder
  • 1/2 c to c of star anise
  • A pinch of nutmeg


Cut the figs in half.

Heat the honey and spices in a pan and add the figs by placing on the skin side.
Allow to cook for 15 min over low heat, basting regularly with the figs and honey.

Let cool and enjoy.
If you feel you can add some vanilla ice cream !
