With Mr. we love the inspired cuisine of the Middle east and as the hummus is not the only recipe that we take to heart, I propose to you today it’s kefta. The keftas are small balls of minced meat (beef and/or sheep) that is eaten warm, they are perfect for a picnic for example !
To accompany, a little spicy sauce to the base of labne, labne is the labane (drained !!! I know I know, I don’t speak French, there go I tell you. The labane is the equivalent of our milk ribot to us. The labne is a kind of yoghurt, a little acidic, but if you do not find in your grocery store, eastern preferred replace it with a yogurt to the Greek !
Kefta and small sauce spicy labne
Ingredients (for 4)
- 600 g of minced meat, a little fat (beef and/or mutton)
- 1 red onion
- 1/4 bunch of flat-leaf parsley
- 1 tbsp of zaatar (a mixture of sumac, sesame and thyme)
- 1 tbsp of mixture 5 spices
- 1 pinch of ground cinnamon
- Salt and pepper
For the sauce labne
- 300 g of labne or two of yogurt to the Greek
- 2 tbsp of cumin seeds
- 1 c. c. of chili powder
- 1 drizzle of olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
Preheat the oven to 200°.
Chop the onion and the parsley finely.
In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients,stir well and then season to taste.
Take small skewers and then roll into small balls ovals on them.
Put on a baking sheet and bake for 15 min.
During this time, prepare the sauce. For this nothing more simple, mix all the ingredients together.
Serve hot accompanied by the sauce, you will see, it is a treat.
