The season of pears is coming and there is really a way of eating that I love, it is poached ! And then Mr. loves it too, so here’s a little recipe with vanilla and black tea to appeal to the largest number. A classic perfect to enjoy for dessert, light and tasty.

But personally what I like above all is the drizzle of chocolate…mmm the bitch !!! But I will not take it personally if you prefer vanilla ice-cream !!!

Poached pears in black tea and vanilla

Ingredients (for 8 pears)

  • 8 pears (in this case, the pass crassane)
  • 100 cl of water
  • 250 g of sugar cane
  • 1 bag of black tea
  • 1 vanilla pod


Split the vanilla pods in the length and scrape out the grains.

In a saucepan, heat the water, the sugar and the vanilla pod and its beans. Then, put the tea bag to infuse in the syrup.

Peel the pears and keep the tails, it will be easier to return them to the saucepan.

Put the pears in the syrup and let cook over medium heat for 40 minutes. It is necessary that the syrup reduces to about 2/3, and that the pears will become slightly translucent.

You can store it in a cool 4 days or put them in a jar sterilized for long term storage !

Enjoy nature or covered with dark chocolate !
