Here is a recipe that I love and that I have discovered thanks to the maternal grandmother of Sir. Prunes and hold candied in a syrup of wine with spices can you imagine ?! The result : prunes fluffy to perfection and melted in the mouth with a syrup to fall…. to eat without moderation with the cottage cheese, the cottage cheese or just like that !

Has made with the best prunes you can find, and a good red wine because it makes all the difference !

Prunes in red wine and spices

Ingredients (for a big pot)

  • 500 g large Agen prunes
  • 1 liter 1/2 of good red wine
  • 100 g of cane sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 star of star anise
  • 1 vanilla pod scraped
  • 2 large pieces of skin of an organic lemon

Description

Put all the ingredients in a casserole, bring to a boil, turn the heat down and let simmer for 35-45 minutes (it is necessary that the syrup has a good consistency).

Let it sit overnight in a cool place before serving.

Keep cool in an airtight container.
