You may recall the candied kumquats in vanilla ?! Not to leave them orphans (finally what remains in my fridge because I’m redoing from time to time), I decided to put them in a dessert worship of our childhood : the semolina in the milk ! And as I don’t do things in half it will be at the milk plant, the milk of spelt (my favorite in the category ” nature “). You can of course replace the kumquats with something else if you don’t have one or don’t want to do (and I did not say lazy !).

Not too sweet and regressive desire, we adopted it (small, small, small….) Yes yes I crack a little there !!!

Semolina plant milk and candied kumquats with vanilla cream {vegan}

Ingredients (makes 6 small pots)

  • 1 litre of milk spelt
  • 120 g semolina medium or fine
  • 2 tbsp of cane sugar
  • 1/2 jar of candied cumquats with vanilla
  • 1/2 c. to c. of vanilla powder
  • Slivered almonds

Cut half of the kumquats into small pieces and put them in the bottom of a pan.

Add the milk and bring to the boil with the sugar and then pour the semolina in rain from above. Cook for 10 minutes on a low heat, stirring.

Leave to cool for 5 minutes off the fire, stir well.

Pour the preparation in little pots and put them in the fridge for at least 2 h.

Before serving, reheat a few candied kumquats, pour over the semolina and add a few slivered almonds toasted or not.
