Two months ago was born the Battle food bloggers thanks to Carole very very nice blog Sunrise Over Sea around the theme of the burger. And the second edition around the pizza, was launched by the sympathetic Melanie’s blog snacks of Nanie. After very nice achievements around these two themes, we here present to the 3rd edition.
This month the theme was launched by the talented Malak of the blog Pop and Soda around the tarts. Salty, sweet, two… each should start in his own interpretation, the goal : to have fun !
So here is our participation for this event with tarts, rustic apples and pomegranate that I had a lot of fun to make. To stay in the theme of the rustic I chose to make my dough with the rye flour and it is really good, a tarts anyone ?!

Tarts, rustic apples and pomegranate
Ingredients (for 6 tarts)
- 3 apples
- 1 grenade
- 2 tbsp of brown sugar
For the sweet dough
- 250 g of rye flour
- 125 g of butter
- 60 g of cane sugar
- 1 egg
- The zest of half a lemon
- 1 pinch of salt
Start by preparing the dough, for this to work the egg and sugar together then add the butter and the lemon zest. Then pour the flour in one shot and form a ball of dough. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180°.
Divide the dough into 6 then roll out the dough on 3-4 mm thick.
Wash and cut es apples into quarters and then into thin slices. Open the pomegranate and separate the grains.
Arrange the apple slices on the dough, and sprinkle of pomegranate seeds. Sprinkle with brown sugar.
Bake for 20 minutes.
